Pregnancy Complications and Heart Failure Risk
Complications during pregnancy can lead to cardiovascular risk down the road, including the risk of heart failure.
An analysis of the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI), results of the study demonstrate hypertensive disorders of pregnancy were independently associated with increased risk of incident heart failure, but this association was not observed for other adverse pregnancy outcomes, such as gestational diabetes, low birth weight, and preterm delivery.
