reproductive technologies

Reproductive technologies, also called “assisted reproductive technologies (ARTs)” and “commercial and technological reproduction,” are processes used to treat infertility in which both eggs and sperm are manipulated outside the body. They have widely varying effectiveness rates, may involve third party eggs, sperm, and/or “surrogate mothers,” and are generally not covered by health insurance.
