cervical mucus

Cervical mucus is a fluid of changing consistency that is secreted by glands found in and around the cervix, and is discharged through the vagina. Cervical mucus changes in consistency and color throughout the menstrual cycle in response to the rise and fall of hormones, during pregnancy, or in response to an infection of the genital tract and/or reproductive organs.
