Racial Wealth Gap Deepens U.S. Retirement Crisis

This 15-minute podcast episode provides a holistic explanation of U.S. racial disparities in retirement savings, particularly for Black Americans. For example, due to generational disinvestment, Black families today have only one-sixth of the retirement savings as white families. It features a conversation between reporter Anne Tergesen and expert financial advisor Tremain Wills, who works with Black women entrepreneurs. It also includes some practical advice for those impacted.

The expanding wealth divide between Black and white families is fueling concern about many Americans' ability to live comfortably in retirement.
