A National Paid Leave Program Would Help Workers, Families
There are many benefits to providing new parents with paid time off to care for newborns or recently adopted children, both for the children, the parents, and their employers.
Black, Hispanic, and Native American workers are less likely to be able to afford unpaid leave from work than white workers, reflecting racial disparities in access to wealth-building opportunities and higher-paying jobs.
