Our Bodies Ourselves Continues the Work of Breast Cancer Action

Our Bodies Ourselves is honored to continue the incomparable advocacy and educational work of Breast Cancer Action. Sadly, BCA had to cease operations in December 2024, after 34 years of addressing breast cancer as a public health and social justice concern.

Breast Cancer Action demanded attention to the environmental causes, racism, and capitalist greed that shape the breast cancer epidemic. Their “Think before you Pink” campaigns called out hypocritical pink ribbon profiteering by corporations. BCA demanded that our politicians and scientific community prioritize an end to breast cancer. (Read more on the Breast Cancer Action website here.)

We will now carry forward this fierce history and legacy, making BCA’s materials the cornerstone of our upcoming Breast Cancer subject area.
