May 2024 Newsletter: Menstrual Health Awareness

May 1, 2024

This newsletter issue highlights the beauty and challenges of menstruation through menopause.

Executive Director Amy Agigian sheds light on the unjust stigma, shame, and inequities of menstruation. Her letter discusses the fundamental right of all menstruators to have access to menstrual education and bleed with dignity.

In recognition of Menstrual Health Awareness month, we recommend resources on period poverty and how to solve it.

This issue also features Eva Marie Carney, a content expert on menstruation and founder of The Kwek Society. She shares her work addressing period poverty among indigenous communities and discusses ways we can all fight for menstrual equity.

Also featured is Dr. Arielle Dance’s story of self-education with endometriosis.  “In the News” links to Amy Agigian’s interview promoting reliable feminist information on the radio show “Live Local, and Progressive.”
