Melissa A. Fabello

Dr. Melissa A. Fabello is a sex and relationships educator whose work focuses on the politics of interpersonal connection. She holds a PhD in human sexuality studies.

Currently, she works in university student services in interpersonal violence prevention and intervention, training faculty and staff, providing resources to students, and running awareness campaigns around dating violence, stalking, and sexual assault.

Melissa is also a member of the board of directors for The Network/La Red, the country's only domestic violence organization focused on partner abuse in queer, trans, polyamorous, and kink communities. 

Previously, Melissa worked as managing editor of Everyday Feminism, where she designed an editorial style based in educational theory to help readers apply intersectional feminist theory in their day-to-day lives.

She has also worked as a community educator for Women Against Abuse in Philadelphia and Sexual Assault Support Services in Portsmouth, NH.

Perhaps most importantly, Melissa is a survivor of multiple forms of interpersonal violence and brings the lenses she's developed in response—queer feminism, transformative justice, and survivor-centeredness—to this deeply important work.

She is thrilled to be working with Our Bodies Ourselves, a feminist sex education publication that she has long-admired. As a sex educator, feminist media creator, and academic, it is an honor to work with a platform with such deep sociohistorical significance, on a topic that is near and dear to her heart.
