Margaret Stubbs
After teaching elementary and junior high school students, Peggy (she/her) became a developmental psychologist, earning her degree from Brandeis University. She has conducted numerous research projects on healthy development across the lifespan.
One primary focus of Peggy's work has been to understand menstrual experiences across the lifespan and to improve menstrual education, especially for young menstruators, as a vital sign of health and body literacy. As a long-time member of the Society for Menstrual Cycle Research (SMCR), she was co-editor for several special issues of women's health journals to add the the work of SMCR feminist researchers to the literature on menstrual experience (https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Margaret-Stubbs).
Although retired, she is also still affiliated with Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA where she is a Professor Emerita of Psychology.
I am delighted to serve as a content expert on the menstruation through menopause team at OBOS Today. Having participated in promoting menstrual health over many years, I hope my experience can provide information about the historical context of this work over time. The work is far from over! I am thrilled with the revival of this important resource for today's audiences, and to work with the younger, energetic activists who are carrying on this important work.
