Gretchen Frey (she/her), MD, FACOG, is an obstetrician/gynecologist. She is now retired from clinical practice and serving as a consultant and educator in the fields of reproductive health and human sexuality.

She earned her MD and completed her residency at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She practiced in the Denver metro area for over 30 years, regularly taught family medicine residents, and retains a clinical faculty position with the School of Medicine.

Dr. Frey's areas of special interest and passion include menopause, hormone therapy (including gender affirming therapy), sexuality and aging, sexual pain syndromes, and low libido.

She has enjoyed presenting to a wide variety of audiences, including Denver University's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI, older adult education) program, American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) regional and national meetings, various groups of medical and nursing professionals, and students of sex therapy.

She serves as a writer and editor of content for Prosayla, the patient education site of ISSWSH (International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health).

Dr. Frey co-authored "An Introduction to Sexuality Education: A Handbook for Primary Care Providers," to help providers address the sexual concerns of their patients in everyday practice.

I have always loved empowering women to understand and care for their bodies and their reproductive health. This is especially important as we experience the multiple changes of aging. Our Bodies Ourselves has supported this same empowerment for decades. I am honored and delighted to join in their ongoing mission of education.
