Elias Fox Bova Schmidt

Elias Fox Bova Schmidt (he/him/his), JD, MSW is an anti-colonialist, anti-fascist, and advocate for trans liberation and reproductive justice/sovereignty. He is a proud transmasculine 2Spirit and descendant of the Seneca Nation of Indians with family roots along the Ohi:yo’.

Elias is the state legislative fellow on the US State Policy and Advocacy Team at the Center for Reproductive Rights. Before this position, he was an If/When/How RJ fellow at SPARK Reproductive Justice NOW based in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to serving on the leadership council with OBOS, Elias is a member of the board of directors for Indigenous Women Rising. 

In his “free time,” Elias is deeply involved with his local communities, where he organizes grassroots events for his 2Spirit and transmasculine communities and facilitates bi-monthly trans youth support groups. Elias is also a doula, supporting local transmasculine community members through birth and all stages of family building, as well as a beadworker specializing in Hodínöhšö:ni:h raised beadwork.

Access to reliable and evidence-based research allows all people to assert autonomy over their bodies and lives. Elias is passionate about using his background and expertise in state-based abortion policy to support OBOS and people of all genders seeking information about abortion care.
