Codou Bop
Codou Bop is a Senegalese feminist researcher and activist.
She has conducted research on topics such as religious fundamentalisms, laws and policies related to reproduction and sexuality in Francophone Africa, new trends in female migrations in Africa, cross-border economic activities of women, gender, and social protection policies, and social constructions of female aging.
Her main area of research and activism focuses on women's and girls' sexual and reproductive health and rights. She has published books and articles on most of these topics.
Codou has served as regional coordinator for Africa and the Middle East for the Women Living Under Muslim Laws (WLUML) Solidarity Network.
She is a founding member of the African Feminist Forum and co-author of the two editions of “Our Body, Our Health," a book on the health and sexuality of women in sub-Saharan Africa.
She lives in Dakar, the capital city of Senegal.
