Bianca Palmisano, MSN, RN, SANE-A (they/them), is a White, Queer, non-binary, and disabled registered nurse and sex health expert based in Washington, DC. They have worked as a sexual assault nurse examiner, primary care nurse, and genitourinary teaching associate, teaching medical students how to perform trauma-informed pelvic exams. They are the owner of Intimate Health Consulting, an education and capacity building organization aimed at improving medicine’s approaches to sexuality and health for marginalized communities.
Nurse Palmisano is a two-time presenter for the Philadelphia Transgender Health Conference and the Woodhull Sexual Freedom Summit, and planning committee member for DC's Transgender Day of Remembrance. Bianca is the primary author of "Safer Sex for Trans Bodies," an outreach and education guide for the trans community sponsored by Whitman Walker Health and the Human Rights Campaign. They have been a guest lecturer for multiple medical education programs, including George Washington University, Johns Hopkins, and University of Chicago.
Bianca has been obsessed with the Our Bodies, Ourselves framework since they started sex educator work in 2012. They are passionate about demystifying sexual health and making healthcare accessible and trauma-informed for all bodies and identities.
