"The On-Ramp: Thought Leadership from Suffolk University in Downtown Boston" interviewed Our Bodies Ourselves executive director Amy Agigian about the history of the revolutionary "Our Bodies, Ourselves" books up through its current digital presence. The OBOS website counters misinformation online. It continues to connect reliable medical information to the social and political forces that also shape our health.

The medical piece of our bodies is just one piece of our experience of life, of our lives. We need to know what our rights are, how to be empowered, what is realistic for us...

If you don't have access to actual evidence-based, scientifically valid information about your body, you are really at a disadvantage when it comes to protecting your health and making life choices about, Do I really want to have children?  When do I want to have them? Is it normal, or is it ok, the way my partner is treating me? Is this discharge normal? ... Is my body normal? There's so many messages that women's bodies are wrong, and so much body dissatisfaction... 

[But] it's not just a matter of what is the best birth control for me, for example. It's why are people trying to stop me from being able to access birth control?
