Trans and Non-Binary People Get Abortions, Too

Trans and gender-nonconforming people can get pregnant and seek abortion services but are often left out of conversations about abortion access. This article details the additional barriers these populations face when they become pregnant and offers advice on how to make abortion access more inclusive.

Trans men, nonbinary, and genderqueer patients continue pregnancies, use birth control, and decide to have children (or not) just like anyone else would. Unlike cisgender individuals, members of the transgender and nonbinary community face additional barriers to accessing safe and reliable healthcare, especially reproductive healthcare.
