Event Details:
An Our Bodies Ourselves event for Sexual Assault Awareness Month (Suffolk University Students only)
Bring your friends for an open group discussion with activist Craig Norberg-Bohm about how men can be allies in the prevention of sexual and domestic violence. This event is an invitation to men & male referenced persons, along with their allies, to think about the primary prevention of sexual and domestic violence.
To what degree are male allies, male survivors, and male perpetrators part of the solution? What do we each have to do with the solution?
We will talk about the various dimensions of this problem, from the multiple perspectives of perpetrator, witness and survivor. We will define primary prevention, and discuss how the promotion of healthy masculinities is part of the solution. With your permission, we will share about our own roles and experiences in these issues. Finally, we will think together about solutions that make sense to the current Suffolk community.
This discussion will be male positive and will assume that male culture is part of the solution.
Please RSVP to help us order enough pizza for all participants.
