Updates on Egg Personhood, Campus Contraception

By Rachel Walden — November 19, 2007

Last week, we noted that a Colorado ballot initiative is in the works that would define a fertilized egg as a person with full Constitutional rights. As it turns out, Montana has a similar effort in the works, as do Georgia, Oregon, Michigan and South Carolina.

We also noted a House bill to restore contraception pricing on college campuses. A companion bill, S.2347, has been introduced in the Senate by Barack Obama. It currently has 22 co-sponsors and has been referred to the Senate Finance committee.
