In light of the censorship and deletion of key federal databases and other federal webpages in recent weeks, it is clear that we can no longer rely on the scientific accuracy or accessibility of federal information about–or in any way related to–women, gender, sexuality, public health, or reproductive rights. We have therefore removed direct links from the OBOS website to federal government webpages. (The one exception is the National Library of Medicine, whose holdings are, as of now, unchanged.)

We’re thankful to the organizations and individuals who acted quickly to save valuable material from the federal data purge. To find archived copies of the purged data, see:

Our Bodies Ourselves remains steadfast in our commitment to provide evidence-based information in the interest of the public good. We condemn censorship, misinformation, and disinformation. We affirm that access to unbiased information about health and sexuality is critical to women and gender-expansive people, especially those who are part of marginalized communities. The free exchange of information is a human right that is central to our ability to live full and free lives, as well as to the promise of democracy.
