Vilunya Diskin, MS, is a founding member of Our Bodies Ourselves and a co-author of Our Bodies, Ourselves.

She focused on international women’s issues and later served on the board of directors for Our Bodies Ourselves. She has traveled extensively, promoting women’s health ventures, especially in Mexico and India.

Fascinated by and knowledgeable about folk art, she created Vilunya FolkArt, a shop and gallery of indigenous art that thrived in Lexington and Cambridge for many years.

She continues consulting on textile projects and hosts a travel vest show twice a year in Boston. She recently returned from Japan where she hosted textile shows in Tokyo.

Vilunya shares a house in Boston with her daughter, Leah Diskin, a psychologist, and two granddaughters, Nadia Martina and Kyra Rachel. Her son, Aaron, a musician and photographer, lives in Manhattan with his partner, Aimai Reporter, and son, Zev Rostam Reporter Diskin.
