Candace W. Burton

Dr. Candace W. Burton is an associate professor and interim associate dean for advanced education at the University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Nursing. She is a certified advanced forensic nurse (AFN-BC) and a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN). Dr. Burton’s research and scholarship focus on how stress and trauma, particularly violence and abuse, intersect with the social determinants of health and health disparities. She is an award-winning author and educator, and is active in the Nursing Network on Violence Against Women, International, the International Association of Forensic Nurses, and the Nevada Nurses Association.
