Laura R. Prieto, PhD, is program director of Our Bodies Ourselves and scholar-in-residence at Suffolk University’s Center for Women’s Health and Human Rights.

She is a multilingual public humanist, feminist researcher, and scholar of transnational, intersectional women’s and gender history. She enjoys writing and speaking on a wide range of topics in many venues, both academic and public. She currently co-directs the [Mary Eliza Project](https://www.boston.gov/departments/archives-and-records-management/mary-eliza-project-boston-women-voters-1920) and is working on a book about women’s suffrage activism in the Philippines, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.

She is a graduate of Wellesley College and Brown University. In her previous position at Simmons University, she not only taught and mentored students, but also developed grant-funded programs, exhibits, and projects to engage communities in thinking about their complex relationships to the past. You can learn more about her at [LauraRPrieto.com](https://www.laurarprieto.com/).

She is delighted to be part of the vital, historical legacy of Our Bodies Ourselves, empowering women and gender-expansive people by sharing knowledge about our health and our lives.
