What Kind of Support Have Global Network Partners Received From OBOGI?
Since OBOGI was created in 2001, and up until OBOS’s transition to a volunteer-led non-profit in 2018, the program leveraged four decades of experience in women’s health publishing and advocacy to provide partners with support as they developed materials based on “Our Bodies, Ourselves,” strategized distribution and outreach, and (when possible) organized for social and political change.
Examples of technical assistance included:
Guidance on planning, start-up and project governance.
Input on content development, peer review, production, publishing, outreach and evaluation.
Customized tools, including guidelines that synthesize the expertise of different partners, as well as OBOS’s expertise in women’s health publishing.
Individual contacts and networks in all fields of women’s health, human rights and publishing.
Content resources, including free print copies of “Our Bodies, Ourselves,” chapters and graphics in electronic format, and expanded website content updates.
Membership and collaborative opportunities with other partners that have worked with OBOS. Assistance with fundraising and grants management.
