It's the topic of [today's "Talk of the Nation" on NPR](http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=13896381). Guests include Wendy Shalit, author of "Girls Gone Mild," and Amy Dickerson, "Ask Amy" columnist of the Chicago Tribune.  
  
One of the first callers, a father and middle school teacher who criticizes his female students' clothes, will really endear himself to listeners (heh). Amy steps up and does a nice job.

The lack of dating story on the Duke campus was interesting. I have to say that this really started in the 80's. It was not quite as severe as it is now, but it was definitely moving in that direction.

I listened to that this afternoon on my way to work and was so glad that Amy immediately corrected his misconception about the Gardasil vaccine. It's good that topic didn't completely derail the conversation, but she thankfully set the record straight for any listeners who had the same ideas about the vaccine.
