Recursos en Español
Since its beginnings, OBOS has produced and supported the creation and dissemination of Spanish language materials on women’s health and sexuality. The first contract with Simon & Schuster, in 1972, included funding for a direct Spanish language translation of “Our Bodies, Ourselves.” Later on, Latinas in the United States — mainly through the efforts of Amigas Latinas en Acción pro-Salud (ALAS) — and feminists in Latin America collaborated to produce “Nuestros Cuerpos, Nuestros Vidas,” (2000),” and other culturally relevant materials by and for Latinas.
Below is a list of Spanish-language resources produced by Our Bodies Ourselves.
De camino a la maternidad
Spanish language version of “Journey to Parenthood: Your Guide Through Pregnancy, Birth & Beyond,” developed by Childbirth Connection and translated by Our Bodies Ourselves.
This 74-page publication, available as a free download, is geared toward childbearing women and their families, who will find it helpful to use either independently or with health educators and maternity care providers.
